Local Billboard Unveiled

Ely, Nev. – The billboard goes up on a unified campaign encouraging citizens to take action to protect their homes. The “Wildfire…will your home survive?”campaign promotes a summer-long message that encourages individual action, understanding and awareness with Nevada’s wildland fire issues.

The campaign is a collaborative partnership with the City of Ely, City of Ely Volunteer Fire Department, Lincoln County, Nevada Division of Forestry, White Pine County, Eastern Nevada Landscape Coalition, Fire Safe Council, Great Basin Institute, Tri-County Weed Control, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Great Basin National park, and the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest Service.  The partners’ focus this year is to promote awareness concerning the homeowner’s responsibility for defensible space for their homes, neighborhoods and communities.
