BLM Nevada News Baker Village Archeological Site to Reopen Monday, October 15 The Baker Village Archeological Site is scheduled to reopen Monday, Oct. 15. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Ely Field Office temporarily closed the popular recreation site, located about one mile northwest of Baker, Nev., for maintenance and improvements, which include replacing fencing and the Ramada. Money was provided through a BLM recreation site maintenance fund. The Baker Village Archeological Site was home to a Fremont Native American community between AD1000-1300.
