The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Ely Field Office on Tuesday, Nov. 27, sold at oral competitive auction a 159-acre parcel of BLM-administered public lands south of Alamo. Brimont Construction, of Overton, Nev., purchased the parcel for $477,000, or $3,000 an acre. Fair Market Value had been established at $398,000. Brimont Construction was one of three registered bidders. The parcel is expected to be used for residential development. The BLM Nevada Las Vegas Field Office served as lead for the sale as part of a statewide pilot project for centralized sales. The sale complies with the Federal Land Transaction Facilitation Act (FLTFA). A portion of the proceeds will be paid to the state and remainder deposited in the Federal Land Disposal Account for acquisition of in-holdings or other such lands in Nevada. -end-
