BLM to Sell Pinyon-Juniper Firewood at Public Auction
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will sell through competitive bid nine cut and stacked units of mixed pinyon and juniper firewood on Friday, Sept. 14, at 9 a.m., at the BLM Caliente Field Station.
The minimum bid is $30 per cord. Available units vary in size from three to five cords. The public may view the firewood at the Caliente city yard, adjacent to the city cemetery.
The firewood is the result of the Clover Mountains Ponderosa Restoration Project, a pinyon-juniper tree-thinning project that protects the health of an approximately 1,000-acre stand of ponderosa pine in the Clover Mountains, about eight miles southeast of Caliente.
For additional information or to obtain bid forms, contact Kyle Teel, BLM fire ecologist, at the BLM Caliente Field Station, 1400 Front St., Caliente, NV, or call (775) 726-8117.
