BLM Seeks Public Comment on Ely Resource Management Plan Draft EIS

The BLM Ely Field Office and ENSR representatives are scheduled to meet with the public from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, Oct. 17, at the Bristlecone Convention Center, 150 Sixth Street, in Ely, to receive comment on the Draft Ely Resource Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement (RMP/EIS).

The purpose of the RMP/EIS is to provide management direction for all BLM Ely District programs. It will also serve to help implement the Eastern Nevada Landscape Restoration Project, a key element of the Great Basin Restoration Initiative.

When complete, the RMP/EIS will affect about 11.4 million acres of BLM-administered public lands in Lincoln, White Pine, and a portion of Nye counties.

The BLM encourages the public to participate.

To learn more call Gene Drais, BLM Ely Field Office RMP project manager, at (775) 289-1880, or elyrmp@blm.gov.
