The BLM Ely Field Office is currently soliciting pre-fire season Emergency Rental Agreements for a variety of heavy and other equipment.

Emergency Rental Agreements help the BLM locate much needed equipment during an emergency.

Examples of equipment desired include bulldozers with rollover protection and a safety canopy, fuel and water trucks and tractor-trailers. Also included on the BLM list are two and four-wheel drive pickup trucks, vans, SUVs and portable toilets.

All equipment rented by the BLM is subject to a safety inspection, prior to use. Also, all potable water trucks must be state-certified. Contractors and operators receive a comprehensive safety briefing prior to being utilized in an incident.

To enter into an Emergency Rental Agreement, vendors this year must first obtain a DUNS number and be registered in the federal government’s Central Contractor Registration database, which is available at www.ccr.gov.
