White Pine Green Up is a five-year pilot program by the City of Ely, NDF, BLM and Forest Service to clean up the public lands. The program allows county residents to leave at the city landfill - free-of-charge - such items as old appliances, tires and leftover construction materials. They can take old car and truck batteries to J & P Napa Auto Parts or Wheeler Machinery, and old vehicles to Lyman's Auto Wrecking, again, without charge.
