Term Permit Renewal for Shane Mathews (#2703214) The current term permit expires on 4/22/2012 and authorizes cattle grazing use according to the following:
* This is for billing purposes only. ** These numbers are approximate These land based allotments are located entirely within Lincoln County in the south central portion of the Ely District BLM, within, approximately, 3 miles of Caliente, Nevada (Map #1). The Highway and Peck Allotments encompass, approximately, 4,251 and 12,718 acres of public land, respectively, and are located within the Panaca Valley Watershed (#210). The south half of the Peck Allotment is located in the Little Mountain Wild Horse Herd Management Area (HMA). The Highway Allotment is not located within an HMA. The allotments are neither located within desert tortoise habitat nor associated with any Wilderness or Wilderness Study Areas (WSAs). Within the Highway Allotment, elevation ranges from approximately 5,600 feet in the higher elevations on the west side of the allotment to approximately 4,500 feet at the lower elevations along State Highway 93. Within the Peck Allotment, elevations range from approximately 5,300 feet in the east and south portions of the allotment to approximately 4,500 feet along State Highway 93. An evaluation of the rangeland monitoring data and rangeland health will be conducted for the Highway and Peck Allotments. This will be summarized in a Standards Determination Document that will be provided for public review at a later date.
