Paul Lewis on Haggerty Wash
CURRENT GRAZING
The purpose and need for the action is to fully process and renew the term grazing permit and reissue a permit for Paul Lewis on the Haggerty Wash allotment. The issuance of the permit would be for an unset period not to exceed 10 years. The Haggerty Wash Allotment consists of 904 acres under Bureau of Land Management administration. The current permit allows Paul Lewis to graze up to 48 cattle from 06/15 to 10/15. A total of 194 active AUMs are currently permitted. No grazing has been authorized for more than five (5) years. Potential changes could occur to the permit based upon a review of rangeland health standards. If changes are to be made, an Interdisciplinary Team (ID team) and public input will be solicited to assist in developing management guidelines for the term permit renewal process. An evaluation of the range monitoring data and rangeland health will be conducted for the Haggerty Wash Allotment. This data will be summarized in a Standards Determination Document.
