Grazing Permit Renewal for Lewis Wendell Mathews (#2705055) for the Panaca Cattle and Buckboard Allotments
 
The purpose and need is to fully process the renewal of the grazing permit for Lewis Wendell Mathews on the Panaca Cattle (1053) and Buckboard (21011) allotments. The current permit has been issued for Lewis Wendell Mathews for the period of 3/1/2006 to 2/28/2016. The issuance of the term permit would be for a period of up to 10 years.

An evaluation of the rangeland monitoring data and rangeland health will be conducted for the Panaca Cattle and Buckboard allotments. This data will be summarized in a standards determination document.
 
The Panaca Cattle Allotment is located 1.5 miles south of Panaca, Nevada. The allotment occurs in the Panaca Valley Watershed (#050). The allotment is located within 14 miles of the Tunnel Spring Wilderness. The allotment encompasses 16,275 acres of BLM managed lands.   The allotment occurs in the Little Mountain Herd Management Area for wild horses.
 
Buckboard is five miles south of Panaca, Nevada. The allotment occurs partially in the Panaca Valley Watershed (#050) and the Clover Creek North Watershed (#010). The allotment is 11 miles northwest of the Tunnel Spring Wilderness. The allotment encompasses 10,842 acres of BLM public land. The allotment occurs in the Little Mountain Herd Management Area for wild horses.
