Tuesday, Aug. 3	Palomino Valley Center Received 67 animals: 56 mares and 11 foals, all in good condition. Gunnison Prison Wild Horse Training Facility Two trailer loads of 33 studs (66 total) were arrived on at about 6 p.m. All the horses were standing when the trucks arrived and made the trip OK. Several horses had small superficial cuts and abrasions that appeared to have possibly happened during transport. No medical attention was needed. All horses from the Tuscarora gather are doing fine and have adjusted to the grass hay and watering trough without incident. Total Tuscarora horses at the facility: 346 studs
Monday, Aug. 2	Palomino Valley Center Received 87 horses: 58 mares and 29 foals, all in good condition. Sunday, Aug. 1	Palomino Valley Center Received 35 animals today: 24 mares and 11 foals, all in very good condition, all are eating and drinking. Gunnison Prison Wild Horse Training Facility One trailer load of 36 stud horses from the Tuscarora gather were received at the Gunnison, Utah Wild Horse prison facility at about 2:45 p.m.  All horses were standing when the truck arrived and made the trip OK.  Several animals appeared gaunt and some what dehydrated, but acted alert and appeared to move freely without concern.   All horses from the Owyhee/Tuscarora gather are doing fine and have adjusted to the grass hay and watering trough without incident. Saturday, July 31	Palomino Valley Center Received 35 horses from the Tuscarora gather: 24 mares and 11 foals.  All arrived in very good condition and are eating and drinking. Friday, July 30	Palomino Valley Center Received 23 horses that were shipped from the gather site this morning, consisting of 9 mares, 2 foals and 12 stallions.  All of the animals arrived in very good condition and are eating and drinking.  A yearling filly, which was received from an earlier shipment, is missing an eye and was euthanized today.  Facility death: 1 Cumulative total: 5
Thursday, July 29	Palomino Valley Center Preparation of the earliest arrivals from Owhyee is continuing.  Received 22 dry mares today.   All animals that have been received to date are in stable condition.   All horses continue to gain strength and rehydrate daily. Their diet consists of grass hay and water with and without electrolyte supplement.    Received 22 dry mares today.                                                                        Gunnison Prison Wild Horse Training Facility All horses from the Tuscarora gather are doing fine and have adjusted to the grass hay and watering trough without incident. Wednesday, July 28	Palomino Valley Center Preparation of the earliest arrivals from Owhyee is continuing. All animals that have been received to date are in stable condition, and continue to gain strength and rehydrate daily. Their diet consists of grass hay and water with and without electrolyte supplement. One 12-year-old stallion suffered a spinal injury during freezemarking yesterday afternoon and died on his own. Received 39 animals today: 23 mares and 16 foals.  Facility death: 1  Cumulative Total: 4 Gunnison Prison Wild Horse Training Facility All horses from the Owyhee gather are doing fine and have adjusted to the grass hay and watering trough without incident. No deaths. No need for any veterinary care. Saturday, July 24	Palomino Valley Facility The Owyhee wild horses are in stable condition.  They continue to improve and gain strength each day. No injuries, no deaths.  The facility received 46 animals today, 25 mares and 21 foals.  They arrived in good condition and unloaded without incident. Received: 46 Gunnison Prison Wild Horse Training Facility No animals received today.  All horses from the Owyhee HMA are doing fine and have adjusted to the grass hay and watering trough without incident.  No injuries, no deaths.
Friday,  July 23	Palomino Valley Facility Preparation of the earliest arrivals from Owhyee continues today.  No animals have been received from the gather operations for the past three days due to relocation of gather site and operations.  All animals that have been received to date are in stable condition.  They continue to gain strength and rehydrate daily.  Their diet consists of grass hay and water with and without electrolyte supplement.  One mare (7696) suffered a stifle injury during preparation yesterday afternoon and was euthanized.                                                                                        Facility death: 1   Cumulative Total: 3 Total Owyhee horses at facility: 393

Wednesday, July 21	Palomino Valley Facility Preparation of the earliest arrivals from Owhyee continues today.  No animals have been received from the gather operations for the past two days due to relocation of gather site and operations.  All animals that have been received to date are in stable condition. They continue to gain strength and rehydrate daily.  Their diet consists of grass hay and water with and without electrolyte supplement.  One 3-month-old foal died overnight due to upper respiratory infection (pneumonia was noted by the veterinarian). Tuesday,  July 20	Palomino Valley Facility Fifty-two Owyhee horses consisting of 41 mares, 4 foals and 7 studs were received from the Owyhee HMA, arrival was approximately 6:10 p.m.  No immediate health concerns were noted at that time.  All animals unloaded from the trucks in stable condition and were placed in pens where there was grass hay and water with and without electrolytes.  No other deaths have occurred at this time. Monday, July 19	Palomino Valley Facility Eighty-seven animals were received from the Owhyee HMA (23 foals and 64 mares). They were in stable condition upon arrival and placed in pens where grass hay and water with and without electrolytes are available. No other deaths have occurred at this time. Received: 87, Total Owyhee horses at facility: 343 Total facility death: 1 Gunnison Prison Wild Horse Training Facility Thirty-seven studs arrived at the facility in stable condition.  They were placed in pens with grass hay and water.  The on-site veterinarian determined that providing electrolytes was not necessary. Sunday, July 18	Palomino Valley Facility Ninety-one animals were received from the Owhyee HMA (42 foals and 49 mares).  They were in stable condition upon arrival and placed in pens where grass hay and water with and without electrolytes are available.  No other deaths have occurred at this time.  Received: 91,  Total Owyhee horses at facility: 256 Total facility death: 1 Gunnison Prison Wild Horse Training Facility One load of 37 stud horses were received at 7:00 p.m.  All the horses were standing when the truckes arrived.  Three animals appeared gaunt and somewhat dehydrated, but acted alert.  No medical attention was needed.  All the horses unloaded fine and transitioned from the truck to the corrals well.  All the horses received on Saturday are doing fine and have adjusted to the grass hay and watering troughs without incident. Saturday, July 17	Palomino Valley Facility Thirty-seven horses from the Owyhee were received at 6 p.m., consisting of 13 wet mares, 4 dry mares, 8 foals and 12 studs.  No immediate health concerns were noted on arrival.  All animals unloaded from the trucks in stable condition and were placed inpens with grass hay, water and water with electrolytes. Received: 37,  Total Owyhee horses at facility: 165 Gunnison Prison Wild Horse Training Facility The facility received 75 studs at 6:00 p.m.  Utah State Veterinarian Dr. Bruce King was on site when the horses arrived.  All the wild horses made the trip without incident and appear healthy with no problems after they were unloaded.  The animals were placed in pens where they can be monitored closely.  Grass hay and unlimited water was provided to each pen.  The horses all appeared alert and did not show signs of stress from dehydration. Friday, July 16	Palomino Valley Facility The Owyhee HMA horses appear to be in stable condition and are gaining energy and strength.  All have found the grass hay and water, including electrolyte fortified water that is being provided to all new horses.
Thursday, July 15	Palomino Valley Facility All mares and foals looked in stable condition at 6:30 a.m. The animals had consumed the hay that was fed on Wednesday and were drinking water.  At 9:30 a.m. one mare was noted in poor condition (dehydration).  She was removed from the pen but died shortly after on her own.  Remaining animals are all stable at this time. Wednesday, July 14	Palomino Valley Facility At about 5:30 p.m. trucks arrived with 129 animals consisting of wet mares and foals from the Owhyee HMA.  All animals unloaded from the trucks in stable condition and were placed in pens with grass hay and water with and without electrolytes. The facility veterinarian was on site at time of arrival and no immediate health concerns were noted at that time other than a few minor cuts and wounds which will be attended to.
