Camping and Picnicking


Wilson Reservoir

Elevation 5300 ft.

83 miles north-northwest of Elko via SR-225, SR-226, and county roads; the last 16 miles are gravel 

21 campsites with picnic tables and fire rings

Campground has vault toilets, dump station, running water, shade shelters and a boat ramp

Camping fees - $4 per vehicle per night

Boat ramp fee - $2 per visit

Day use fee - $2 per vehicle

Open late April through October; road may be impassable after any rain

Area activities include camping, fishing, boating, picnicking, hunting

Accessible bathrooms, fishing dock and picnic area



North Wildhorse Campground

Elevation 6200 ft.

70 miles north of Elko on SR-225

18 campsites with tables, fire rings, grills, and trees or shade ramadas; 3 group sites

Campground has vault toilets, no water, and gravel roads

Camping fees - $6 per vehicle per night

Day use fees - $2 per vehicle

Open late May through October

Area activities: camping, fishing, picnicking, boating, hunting, mountain biking, wildlife viewing

Maximum trailer length - 24 feet



Zunino/Jiggs Reservoir

Elevation 5600 ft.

30 miles south-southeast of Elko via SR-227 and SR-228

Open camping on the north and south shores only

9 developed sites with tables and grills. Vault toilet in day-use area

No drinking water

Area activities: camping, picnicking, fishing, boating, wildlife observation (During drought years, the lake may dry up)

Use fee is $2 per vehicle per day


Tabor Creek

Elevation 6000 ft.

30 miles north-northwest of Wells; mostly gravel roads

14 campsites with tables, fire rings, vault toilet

No drinking water; creek water can be boiled or purified

Accessible mid-April through late November

Area activities: camping, fishing, picnicking, mountain biking, hiking, wildlife observation, hunting

Use fee is $2 per vehicle per day
