Trail Center Needs Volunteers for Musical


Elko, Nev. -- The California Trail Interpretive Center is looking for volunteers to assist with the production of, "Forlorn Hope," a historically-based musical about a wagon train on the California Trail. Actors of all ages, including men, women and children, as well as support staff such as stage hands, musicians and technical help are needed. Auditions will be held Wed. June 17 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Senior Terrace, 1195 Ruby View Drive, in Elko. Information about the play and needed positions will also be available at the auditions for people wishing to volunteer their services. "Forlorn Hope" a brand new production will debut its world premiere in August at the Trail Center. Contact David Jamiel, Trail Center Manager at 775-482-4718 to find out more.


The BLM manages more land - 253 million acres - than any other Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The Bureau, with a budget of about $1 billion, also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The BLM's multiple-use mission is to sustain the health and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. The Bureau accomplishes this by managing such activities as outdoor recreation, livestock grazing, mineral development, and energy production, and by conserving natural, historical, cultural, and other resources on public lands.
