NORTHEASTERN NEVADA WILDFIRE UPDATE
Wildfire Facts
Winecup Complex – Complex is 162,234 acres (increase due to better mapping) and 60% contained. See attached update for more information. Current active fires include:
West Fork Fire
12 miles southeast of Jackpot, NV
start date 7/17/07; cause: lightning
total personnel 658
Murphy Complex – 649,131, 37% contained, expected containment 8/4/07, total personnel 651. See attached update for more information. Current active fires include:
Rowland Fire/Elk Fires
30 miles southwest of Twin Falls, ID
start date 7/16/07; cause: lightning
Scott Creek Fire
just west of the town of Jackpot
start date 7/17/07; cause: lightning
Fire restrictions in northern and central Nevada will be in effect until further notice. Lands involved include federal, state, tribal, and the Humboldt, Pershing, Lander, Eureka, Elko, Esmeralda, and Nye County Fire Protection Districts and portions of Washoe, Lyon, Churchhill, and White Pine counties.
