NEW ELKO BLM MANAGER ANNOUNCED
Bureau of Land Manager (BLM) State Director Ron Wenker has announced the selection of Ken Miller as the Elko Field Manager.
Miller is currently the Field Manager in Burley, Idaho. Originally from Montana, he is no stranger to Nevada as he started his career in Ely as a soil scientist in 1980. He also worked in the BLM Las Vegas District as a soil scientist. His BLM experience is broad and varied and includes working in the Idaho State Office as the state budget officer, and in the Salmon, Idaho District Office as a natural resource specialist and administrative officer.
Miller lived in Elko for several years and served as the battalion training officer with the Nevada National Guard from 1987 to 1991. Ken and his wife Marlene have two daughters, Shannon a sophomore at Boise State and Jesse a teacher in Salmon, Idaho. Miller enjoys canoeing, hiking, and reading.
“Marlene and I are really pleased with this opportunity and are looking forward to moving back to Elko. It’s wonderful to be coming home to Nevada,” said Miller.
He will begin working in Elko in late July.
