HIGHWAY 93 COMPLEX FIRES CONTAINED
Elko, Nev. – The last of five fires started during a lightning a week ago are contained.
The Highway 93 Complex is 100% contained as of 8 pm this evening barring unforeseen circumstances. The Type I Incident Management Team (Broyles) is managing the fires.
Two fires made up the complex – West Basin Fire (60,974 acres) and the Eccles Fire (19,559 acres). The fires will be continued to be monitored. A number of crews and other resources were released today. Releases of firefighting resources will continue through Saturday, July 14. Fire restrictions in northern and central Nevada will be in effect until further notice. Lands involved include federal, state, tribal, and the Humboldt, Pershing, Lander, Eureka, Elko, Esmeralda, and Nye County Fire Protection Districts and portions of Washoe, Lyon, Churchhill, and White Pine counties.
