Fire activity and significant items:
Castleford Zone: Some interior burning in down/dead fuels and burning in isolated pockets was observed with no growth to the perimeter.
Wild Horse Zone: Some smoldering and creeping were observed in the Tennessee Mountain area and a few active pockets well within the perimeter east of Mountain City.
Today’s Actions:
Crews will patrol and mop-up fire line. Dozer line surveys and fire line rehabilitation will continue. Demobilization of excess resources will occur on both zones today and tomorrow. Both incident management teams have identified smaller organizations that will take responsibility for the fire. Transfer of command will take place today on the Wild Horse Zone and tomorrow on the Castleford Zone.
Evacuations, Closures and Restrictions:
Raft River Electric Company continues repairs to power lines. Full restoration of power is expected to be July 30, 2007. Stage 2 fire restrictions are in effect.
