Bailey Fire, Update #4 or (775) 748-4020

Elko, Nevada – Fire fighters have contained the human-caused Bailey Fire which has burned 1,915 acres in Pine Valley about 30 miles south of Carlin, Nev.
The fire started late Wednesday afternoon (June 20) and burned in sagebrush and grass. The fire appears to be human caused and is under investigation. No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened.

“We will continue to monitor the burned area over the weekend,” said BLM Elko Interagency Dispatch Center Manager Bill Roach.

Roach added that a Fire Weather Watch is forecasted for Saturday and the long-range forecast shows no relief from hot and dry. People are urged to be cautious with fire and outdoor activities that can create sparks.
