TRAVEL MANAGEMENT PLANNING WORKSHOP SCHEDULED
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Elko Field Office is hosting a public workshop
to continue the Travel Management Planning process for public lands in Northeastern Nevada. The workshop will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2006, 6:00 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 3650 East Idaho Street, Elko, Nevada.
“We invite the public to join us as we continue planning for the future of vehicle travel and multiple uses on public lands in Northeastern Nevada,” said Clint Oke, Assistant Field Manager for Non-Renewable Resources, BLM Elko Field Office. “Because of increased public interest, the initial focus for the planning efforts will be on Spruce Mountain southeast of Wells, Nevada. We will be seeking more detailed public input about proposed activities and uses involving vehicle travel. We also want to hear public concerns about resource values. Travel Management Planning is an open process and we depend on public participation to make it effective. We had good participation at the kickoff meeting last November.”
