BLM ELKO LAND SALE RESULTS

Five of eleven parcels of public land in Elko County, Nevada, offered for sale under the provisions of the Federal Land Transaction Facilitation Act of 2000 were sold at auction at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Elko Field Office on September 26, 2006.
A 319-acre parcel near West Wendover was offered for $100,000 and sold for $280,000; a 40-acre parcel near Boulder Creek was offered for $9,000 and sold for $12,000; a 120-acre parcel near Boulder Creek was offered for $20,000 and sold for $20,000; a 80-acre parcel near Jackpot was offered for $65,000 and sold for $175,000; and a 80-acre parcel near Dunphy was offered for $25,000 and sold for $36,000.
The six unsold parcels totaling 3422 acres near Montello are planned to be offered at the next BLM land sale in Las Vegas (currently not scheduled). Information about the parcels is available on line at http://www.nv.blm.gov/elko/lands.htm or contact Cathie Jensen at the BLM Elko Field Office at (775) 753-0200.
“There has been a lot of interest in the amount of public lands in northeastern Nevada versus private lands,” said BLM Elko Field Manager Helen Hankins. “We made a commitment to offer some public lands parcels for sale in Elko County and we did.”
