RECREATION FEES REDUCED AT BLM WILDHORSE CAMPGROUND
Over night camping and day-use fees at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) North Wildhorse Campground are reduced effective immediately until the campground water well is back in service.
“It only seems fair that the fees are reduced until we can get the well in operation. The new fees are $3 per vehicle per day for camping and $1 per vehicle for day use,” said Clint Oke, BLM Elko Field Office Assistant Field Manager for Nonrenewable Resources. “The site has been posted to reflect the revised fee structure. When water is available at the campground, the fees will be readjusted back up to the full level.”
The North Wildhorse Campground is 70 miles north of Elko on the north side of Wildhorse Reservoir. The campground offers 18 campsites with tables, fire rings, grills, and shade cabanas. Central garbage service and vault toilets are available. The campground overlooks Wildhorse Reservoir and features three group sites that are popular for family reunions and large groups. In addition to the shade cabanas at each site, many also have mature aspen trees for additional shade.
Because the water well is not yet operable, visitors need to bring their own drinking water.
