Summary: the last shipment of 15 horses from the Lahontan HMA gather was received this morning. All transported horses have arrived safely at PVC and are on feed and water.
Animals received: 15 Animal deaths at facility: 1 Cause: one young stud was euthanized by veterinarian Richard Sanford on 11/19/2010 because of an old healed fracture or dislocation of his right hind fetlock joint. This lead to lameness and a body condition score of 2. Veterinary report

Palomino Valley
Summary: a first shipment of 36 horses from Lahontan HMA was received early this morning (25 mares and 11 weanling foals).
Nine additional horses were shipped later in the morning to PVC by BLM transport (four mares and five foals). The reason for this shipment was one foal’s mother was inadvertently transported earlier this morning without the foal.
All transported horses have arrived safely at PVC and are on feed and water.
Fifteen horses remain at the Lahontan temporary corrals which include 13 studs and 2 mares. These will be shipped Friday morning.
11/19/2010 - One stud foal was euthanized by veterinarian Richard Sanford on 11/19/2010 at PVS because of an old healed fracture or dislocation of his right hind fetlock joint.
