Winters Ranch Management Plan and Environmental Assessment (DOI-BLM-NV-C020-2009-0001-EA)

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Carson City District-Sierra Front Field Office, has prepared the Winters Ranch Management Plan and Environmental Assessment (EA).  The EA analyzes the potential effects to the human environment associated with the Plan, which would set management guidance for approximately 991 acres of BLM managed lands in Washoe County, Nevada.

The Plan sets management objectives and actions for seven broad categories including:

Stream Habitats
Wetlands
Terrestrial Habitats
Visual Resources
Recreation
Environmental Education & Interpretation
Health
Safety
Visitor Access

In addition, the EA analyzes the potential effects associated with an approximately 7,700 foot-long fuel break along the northern boundary of the Winters Ranch property.

The EA and associated documents are available for public review and comment - see document links in the column to the right.  These are pdf documents and some are rather large, so please be patient as they load onto your PC.

Comments on the Winters Ranch Management Plan and Environmental Assessment (DOI-BLM-NV-C020-2009-0001-EA) were accepted through April 20, 2011.  Further questions should be directed to Jim Schroeder, BLM Sierra Front Field Office, 5665 Morgan Mill Road, Carson City, NV  89701, or e-mail comments to jim_schroeder@blm.gov
