Spanish Springs Quarry Mineral Sales Environmental Assessment (DOI-BLM-NV-C020-2011-0005-EA)
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Sierra Front Field Office, has completed the Spanish Springs Quarry Mineral Sales, Conveyor Belt and Access Road Right-of-Way, Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). Martin Marietta Materials Inc. has submitted two applications to the BLM for review and approval: 1) to renew the Contract for Sale of Mineral Materials (application no. NVN087320), and 2) to obtain a right-of-way authorization (application no. NVN078985) for the construction and operation of an aggregate conveyor belt and associated access road.
The project area is adjacent to Sha-Neva Road, east of Pyramid Highway in Washoe County, Nevada. The EA assess the potential direct and indirect effects on the human environment associated with these proposals.
The EA and FONSI are available for public review and comment in the column to the right under Document Links. Hard copies are also available at the Carson City District Office.
