Public Observation Opportunities

 When can I visit?

The public is invited to view gather operations every day. Please keep in mind that gather activities can change at a moment's notice. This webpage will be updated regularly with new information. For the latest information, call the Diamond Gather information line at (775) 861-6700 or for general information on the Wild Horse and Burro Program, call 866-468-7826.

What are the procedures?

The BLM is committed to providing as much public access as possible; however, the Diamond Complex is remote with possible icy roads and public safety is our first priority. BLM staff will be available each day to escort the public into observation areas.

We are now on the Battle Mountain District portion of the gather. The meeting location will be at the BLM, Eureka Fire Station approximately 1.1 miles southwest of Eureka, Nevada on State Highway 50.  All visitors must be at this location and ready to leave by 7a.m. daily.  Because of the repositioning of the holding corrals and trapsite they will not begin gathering again until 2/3/2013.

This information may change daily so check with this website or call the Diamond Gather information line at 775-861-6700.
