Battle Mountain District Planning Information
This webpage is provided as a source of information on the planning efforts and planning documents for the BLM Battle Mountain District, which is located in Central Nevada.
The Battle Mountain District is comprised of the Mount Lewis and Tonopah Field Offices. The Mount Lewis Field Office manages the northern 4.4. million acres of public lands (public lands are shown in yellow on the map to the right) within the District while the Tonopah Field Office manages the southern 6.1 million acres of public lands.
The Shoshone-Eureka and Tonopah Resource Management Plans (RMPs) and Amendments are scheduled to be revised and combined beginning in Fiscal Year (FY) 2009. The revised plan will combine both planning area into the Battle Mountain District RMP. Planning efforts for this combined RMP will begin in FY 2008 with the Pre-Plan and the Analysis of Management Situation (AMS). The public will be invited to participate on many different occasions during this planning process.
