BLM Seeks Input on Hickison Recreation Area
Battle Mountain, Nev. — The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Mount Lewis Field Office (MLFO) is seeking public review and comment on an Environmental Assessment (EA) that analyzes proposed improvements at the Hickison Petroglyph Recreation Area.
The proposed improvements would add approximately 165 acres to the existing 160-acre developed recreation area. Improvements would include a camp loop road, day use parking, upgraded campsites, horse camp loop road, trailhead parking area, potable water system, an RV dump station, and trail development area.
The 30-day public comment period on the EA will begin August 18, 2008. Submit written comments to the Bureau of Land Management, Mount Lewis Field Office, Attn: Hickison RAMP EA, 50 Bastian Rd., Battle Mountain, NV 89820. Comments must be received by 4:30 p.m. September 19, 2008.
