Ruby Hill Project Preliminary Environmental Assessment (PEA)
The Ruby Hill Project (Project) is an existing mining operation located approximately 0.7 mile northwest of the town of Eureka, Nevada, at elevations ranging between approximately 6,200 feet to 6,500 feet above mean sea level (amsl). The Project boundary encompasses all or portions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, and 23 of Township 19 North, Range 53 East (T19N, R53E), and portions of Sections 31, 32, 33, and 34 of T20N, R53E, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian (MDB&M), Eureka County, Nevada (Project Area). The Project Area includes approximately 8,411 acres that consist of approximately 3,015 acres of private land owned by Barrick Gold Corporation (Barrick) and operated by Homestake Mining Company of California (Homestake), a wholly owned subsidiary of Barrick, and approximately 5,396 acres of public land administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Battle Mountain District, Mount Lewis Field Office (MLFO).
