Desert Clean-Up Program Makes Mincemeat of Trash
The Southern Nevada District Office Desert Clean-Up program boasted an extremely productive year that made the district’s three million acres of public land much more beautiful.
In FY 2013, the Desert Clean-Up team hosted 76 clean-up events, removed almost 1,507 cubic yards (about 750 full-size truck beds) of trash, cleaned 510 acres of public land, recycled 467 discarded tires, posted/replaced 417 signs and constructed more than 4,700 feet of post and cable fencing to protect environmentally sensitive areas.
