Project Improves Landscaping at Trail Center
Project: Landscape 2.3 acres along the north side of the Trails Center and the parking lot, including the installation of an irrigation system and modifications to the parking lot.

Progress:
February 2, 2011: $302,151 obligated, $302,150 spent.
August 16, 2010: Project work began
Contracts: A $271,627 contract was awarded to C3, Company LLC of Greenwood Village, Colorado.
Completion date: All major construction was completed on October 6, 2010.
Jobs: The project employed 6-20 contractor workers.
Local purchases: All contract workers were based in Elko.
Benefits and Needs: Completion of this project will visually enhance visitors’ perception, experience and understanding of the center, and eliminate erosion problems resulting from areas that were excavated during the original construction phases of the Trail Center complex but were not reseeded.
Background: The Trail Center showcases the California Trail experience to more than 70,000 local, state and international visitors per year.
