Management of Land Boundaries

 


This 60 minute broadcast in the M Street Live! series will focus on recent Management of Land Boundaries guidance issued for “Plan to Ensure Adequate Cadastral Survey Review of Boundary Evidence Prior to the Approval of Significant Land and Resource Transactions and Commercial Projects (IM 2011-122). This telecast will originate from the BLM M Street office in Washington, DC, California State Office (CASO) in Sacramento, CA and the National Training Center (NTC) studios in Phoenix, Arizona. This program will be transmitted to authorized BLM satellite downlink sites on BLM’s DISH Network satellite system.

Program Description

This program will provide an overview of recent National policy guidance regarding:
1)      Review and assessment of land boundaries documents and legal descriptions   where significant transaction and commercial activities are planned.
 
2)      The implementation of this policy at the California State Office to improve the quality and consistency of legal land descriptions. 
 
After initial remarks by Mike Nedd, Assistant Director, Mineral & Realty Management and Don Buhler, Branch Chief, Cadastral Survey, subject matter specialists will outline the goals and requirements of the IM. 
 
A question and answer segment will follow.
