BLM Satellite Network Broadcast Announcement  NTC-TV

 M Street Live!
A BLM Forum on Current Topics and Issues

April 14, 2011

The first broadcast in this series will be dedicated exclusively to focusing on questions associated with the implementation of BLM’s new Wild Lands policy. The telecast is expected to last around 45 minutes to an hour and will originate from the BLM National Training Center in Phoenix, Arizona and the BLM M Street office in Washington, DC.

Program Description

Join policy and program leaders from the Washington Office (WO) Wilderness and Planning divisions in reviewing key questions related to BLM's new Wild Lands policies. The panel of experts will be answering the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) that have been submitted by managers and staff prior to the telecast. You may submit your questions via email to:  NTCtelecast@blm.gov

WO program leads will attempt to address as many of the field questions as possible during the limited time frame of the telecast and will be scheduling a follow up M Street Live session to cover additional questions if needed.  Clarifying questions raised during the telecast will be addressed as time permits or responded to via email by the WO staff. The M Street Live series is going to be offered on a regular basis to provide the BLM staff direct access to the leadership in the Washington Office for clarification on emerging programs, policies, and initiatives; and as a means of sharing the successes of field offices in implementing these programs.

The Wild Lands policy comprises Secretarial Order 3310, signed by the Secretary on December 22, 2011, and the following three manuals: (1) Manual 6301 “Wilderness Characteristics Inventory”; (2) Manual 6302 “Consideration of Lands with Wilderness Characteristics (LWCs) in the Land Use Planning Process;” (3) Manual 6303 “Consideration of LWCs for Project-Level Decisions in Areas Not Analyzed in Accordance with BLM Manual 6302.”
