Motors of greater horsepower may be furnished if necessary to meet the requirements specified for the driven equipment. Where larger motors are furnished, the capacity of the electrical wiring and equipment serving them shall be increased accordingly. When machinery which can meet performance specifications with a motor of the horsepower shown is available from at least two manufacturers, and the Contractor chooses to furnish machinery with a larger motor, the increased circuit capacity which is required by the larger motor furnished at the Contractor's option, shall be at no additional cost to the Government.(# PART 3: EXECUTION 3.1INSTALLATION A.Wiring: Unless otherwise indicated, furnish and install material and components required in the motor circuits, which are not provided as part of the driven equipment.(# 3.2FIELD QUALITY CONTROL A.Insulation Test: After the motor has been installed, the Contractor shall megger test insulation resistance between the windings of two-speed and dual voltage motors and between the windings and frame%0*s's' of motors. Replace motors whose insulation values are less than one hundred megohms. (# B.Load Current Test: The Contractor shall measure motor current in each phase conductor with motor operating at the highest normal load to which it may be subjected. Compare current readings to nameplate full load current rating. Report to the Contracting Officer any readings higher than nameplate rating. Record current readings for motors one-half horsepower and larger. Submit record to Contracting Officer.(# PART 4: MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT ***************************************************** WHEN A "LUMP SUM" CONTRACT IS USED, DELETE THE TITLE PART 4: MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT, AND BOTH ARTICLES FROM THIS SECTION.
