The day tank shall be suitable for seismic zone 3 and shall be equipped with overflow basin capable of containing 150 percent of tank capacity with switch in basin to shut off pump and send signal to generator alarm panel.(# &0*s's'ԌF.Generator: Shall be singlebearing, selfaligning, fourpole, synchronous type, revolving field, with amortiser windings, direct drive centrifugal blower for proper cooling and minimum noise, temperature compensated solidstate voltage regulator, and brushless rotating rectifier exciter system. The generator shall be directly connected to the engine flywheel housing and driven through a flexible coupling to ensure permanent alignment. The maximum temperature rise shall be 100 degrees C. at 40 degrees C. ambient.(# 1.` ` The threephase, broad range, reconnectible generator shall have 12 leads brought out to allow connection to obtain any of the available voltages for the unit.(#` 2.` ` The voltage regulator shall be solidstate design, and shall function by controlling the exciter magnetic field between stator and rotor to provide no load to full load regulation of rated voltage within plus or minus 1 percent during steadystate conditions. The enginegenerator set and regulator must sustain at least 90 percent of no load voltage for 10 seconds with 250 percent of rated load at near zero power factor connected to its terminals.(#` 3.` ` The voltage regulator shall be insensitive to severe load induced waveshape distortion from SCR to thyristor circuits such as those used in battery charging (UPS) and motor speed control equipment.
