Boxes with hinged cover for communications or control cabinets may be without flange provided that the cover is fabricated with a 3/4-inch (minimum) lip folded toward the back of the box to cover the leading edges of the box when the cover is in the closed position.(# D.Requirements for Grounding Bus: Cabinet boxes for electrical panelboards shall have an interior, copper, equipment grounding bus. The ampacity of the grounding bus shall be equal to the service grounding conductor. The grounding bus shall be brazed or bolted to the box and shall have pressure connection terminals to accommodate grounding conductors entering the box plus a suitable number of terminals for spare circuits.(# E.Cabinet Fronts: Unless otherwise indicated, shall be a flat, one-piece frame supporting a hinged door with flush catch and with additional requirements as follows:(# 1.` ` For surface-mounted cabinets, the front shall be the same size as the box.(#` 2.` ` For recessed cabinets, the front shall extend beyond sides of the box by 3/4 inch (minimum).(#` 3.` ` The door opening in the frame shall be fabricated with a lip which the door can close against.
