The speed controller shall be self-contained, totally enclosed in a NEMA 1 cabinet and be capable of operation between 0$ and 40$C. It shall have a 4 to 1 speed (frequency) range. The motor speed controller shall be automatically controlled by electric (420 milliamps) control signal, where 20 milliamps corresponds to maximum speed and 4 milliamps corresponds to minimum speed. Manual operation capability must be provided. The motor speed controller must provide for a slow speed start (soft start) with adjustable starting frequency. Minimum and maximum speed shall be capable of adjustment. The motor speed controller shall have built-in current limiter with automatic shutdown if motor current exceeds 150% of design. Set at start-up for actual motor nameplate rating. The motor speed controller shall provide simple connections for time clock control, fire, smoke and freeze detectors and EP relay. The motor speed controller must be capable of running through momentary power outages up to 5 cycles in duration. Unit will shut-down if power fails for greater than 5 cycles but will automatically restart when power is reapplied. An isolation transformer must be supplied upstream of the motor speed controller to insure safe, reliable operation. Provide factory-trained service technician to supervise start-up of each motor speed controller. All power and control wiring to be furnished by the electrical contractor. The motor speed controller must meet the following specifications in operation.(#@ @1. Instantaneous shut-down on current overloads in excess of 150%.(#@ 2. This system shall consist of centrifugal roof exhauster (EF) and its control system. Provide an adjustable blade damper. The damper shall be adjusted and the blade locked at [ ] CFM with EF operating and CSAHU not operating.(#@ D.@Temperature Control System (CSAHU): Excess heat generated by equipment in the UPS equipment room must be removed by outside air provided by the CSAHU. Provide an automatic temperature control system which will adjust the outside air volume supplied to provide minimum air flow at an equipment room temperature of 90$F and lower. If the equipment room air temperature drops to 40$F and lower, the air handling unit, the CSAHU, shall be automatically shutdown and later restarted and operated at minimum CFM when the room air temperature rises to 90$F. At room air temperatures between 90$F and 100$F the fan CFM supplied shall be varied linearly from the minimum CFM the fan controller is capable of providing less than [ ] SCFM to a maximum of [ ] SCFM at room air temperatures of 100$F and higher.(#@ E.@Backup Temperature Control System: Provide an automatic control system for the backup ventilation fan EF. This system shall automatically operate when the UPS equipment room air temperature is [102]$F and higher. The system shall automatically shutdown when the UPS equipment room air temperature drops to 75$F and lower and later restart when the room air temperature rises to 102$ and higher. Each time the EF is operated, a buzzer shall be activated and an indicator shall light on a control panel in the computer room so that personnel can check to verify that the CSAHU is operating properly. A two position switch shall be installed so that the buzzer can be turned off; however, the switch shall not turn the indicator light off. The buzzer and indicating light shall both go off when EF is shut down.(#@ PART 3: EXECUTION 3.01 INSTALLATION: A.@Manufacturers Recommendations: Install various components in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.(#@ B.@Field Quality Control: A demonstration test is required to demonstrate proper operation of the UPS equipment room ventilation system.
