The inlet shall be designed by the manufacturer for use with single ply roofing membrane without use of sealants except at mating surfaces. There shall be no gaps or voids that require filling with sealants. The Contractor shall submit a mock-up or whatever other drawings or literature the Contracting Officer deems appropriate to determining the suitability of the inlet. The inlet shall be compatible with the drain piping system used and shall conform to the Federal Specification for the type of material it is made from.(#@ B.@Piping, Fittings, and Couplings: Piping may be plastic or cast-iron except for the five inch riser which must be cast iron. The piping shall be joined with compatible fittings with joints that may be easily disconnected or cleanout plugs at least every 100 feet along the pipe. The piping shall be installed according to the sizes shown on the drawings. The piping and fittings shall meet Federal Specifications L-P-320B, L-P-322B, L-P-001221A, or W-W-P-401E, depending on the type of piping used.(#@ C.@Piping Hangers: The piping shall be supported at ten foot minimum intervals with pipe hangers approved by the Contracting Officer. The hangers shall include the pipe support, the connecting pipe to the roof structure and clamps or other fasteners to connect the hanger to the roof structure. The connection method shall be approved by the Contracting Officer. Pipe hangers shall conform to Federal Specification A-A-1192.(#@ PART 3: EXECUTION 3.01 INSTALLATION: A.@Requirements: The Contractor shall install the piping system as shown on the drawings unless otherwise approved by the Contracting Officer. The Contractor shall insure that the pipe runs drain freely and do not interfere with other equipment or systems installed in the building. Should a conflict occur, the Contractor shall be responsible for designing and modifying conflicting systems at no additional cost to the Government. The piping shall be pitched a minimum of 1/8-inch per foot.(#@  $Ԍ3.02 TESTING: A.@Hydrostatic Testing: The Contractor shall simulate a flow blockage of the system at the dry well. The entire system shall be filled with water to the point of overflow on the roof and shall remain in this condition for 24 hours. If any leaks develop, the test shall be continued or repeated until it is leak-free for 24 hours. The Contractor shall be responsible for cleaning up any leakage during testing and repairing to the original condition any building parts damaged by leakage. The Contractor shall notify the Contracting Officer 24 hours prior to beginning the hydrostatic test.(#@ PART 4: MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT 4.01 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT: A.
