Location: Located within the El Malpais National Conservation Area, south of Grants, NM, and 80 miles west of Albuquerque
Elevation Range: 7,100 – 7,800 feet
BLM Acreage: 3,930 acres
Description:
This WSA is made up of sagebrush flats and pinyon covered sandstone hills. This area is under consideration for addition to the Cebolla Wilderness.

Access:
From I- 40 (about 6 miles east of Grants, NM) exit on NM 117. Drive south approximately 26 miles, and turn left onto Cebolla Canyon Road. In about 2 miles, this road becomes the western border of the WSA for approximately 1½ miles up to the intersection with Sand Canyon Road. Turning right on Sand Canyon Road, the WSA is on both sides of the road for approximately 2 miles at which point the boundary of the Cebolla Wilderness is reached.
This is a dirt road requiring suitable clearance; however, the road may be impassible when muddy conditions exist. Please note that conditions of roads can change at any time due to weather. Drivers should avoid dirt roads during rain or snow. Drivers should be cautious of wash-out following rain or snowmelt.
There are no marked trails in this WSA. Visitors must possess knowledge and skill in cross country hiking and navigating.
