Fort Craig National Historic Site


Fort Craig is located about 32 miles south of Socorro, and 45 miles north of Truth or Consequences, on the west bank of the Rio Grande. Traveling south on I-25, take the San Marcial exit (Exit 124). Follow the Frontage Rd south for 6.5 miles. Turn east (left) on the Fort Craig Rd. Traveling north on I-25, take exit 115, and take the frontage road (NM Hwy 1) north about 3 miles to County Road 273 (the road to Fort Craig). Fort Craig is 4.5 miles east of the paved frontage road (NM 1) at the end of the gravel fort road.
