Tent Rocks Monument is Open!

The New Mexico Bureau of Land Management is pleased to announce that Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument has reopened.

The road construction project to pave the access road is complete, allowing visitors to return to the monument.

“We want to thank everyone for their patience during this construction project,” said Ed Singleton, BLM Albuquerque District Manager.  “We’re happy to reopen the monument and welcome the public back out, especially during this beautiful New Mexico fall weather.”

Visitors should be advised that the New Mexico State Highway and Transportation Department has begun construction work on State Highway 22, on the way to Tent Rocks Monument from Cochiti Dam to the pueblo.  One lane is open and a pilot car will be present to shuttle cars through the construction site.   Visitors can expect a possible delay of up to 15 minutes.

The monument will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the gates closing at 6 p.m., from now until October 31st.  Starting November 1st, the monument will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the gates closing at 4 p.m.
