January 21, 2015 Lease Sale

Update-August 14, 2014: No new Expressions of Interests were received from industry for parcels in the Las Cruces District Office and the Rio Puerco Field Office. However, the BLM New Mexico State Office will consider for lease five parcels within the Farmington Field Office. These parcels were originally considered for lease in the October 21, 2014, Lease Sale, but deferred for additional Tribal consultation. Recently, the BLM has confirmed that these parcels are being drained by wells in proximity to the parcels. In order to avoid further uncompensated drainage and loss of royalties, the BLM will consider these parcels for sale in the January 21, 2015, Lease Sale and completing all necessary Tribal consultation.


The BLM New Mexico State Office will be accepting Expressions of Interests (EOIs) for both the Las Cruces District Office and Rio Puerco Field Office. However, only EOIs received for one of these offices will be offered for sale in the January 2015 Oil & Gas Lease Sale. This decision will be made by April 11, 2014. All other EOIs received for the January 2015 Lease Sale will be considered in future sales.
