Station 7: The Fault Line

While there are several faults at Tent Rocks, the fault line at Station #7 provides a rare opportunity to see a fault line up close.

The thick, white rock on the right ends against wavy tan layers of the left.  The fracture that separates them is a fault line.

While the white rock was created by pyroclastic flow, explosions from an ancient volcano a mile away produced the wavy tan layers.
