2009 Visitation Hours and Closure Information
Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument

Albuquerque, N.M.Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, located 55 miles northeast of Albuquerque, is a popular destination for hikers, photographers and others interested in the unique tent rock formations.  The monument is open year-round with changes to visitation hours that coincide with seasonal changes in daylight. 

Winter visitation hours are:
  -  November 1 to March 10
  -  8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  -  Entrance gates close at 4 p.m., all visitors must exit monument by 5 p.m.

 

Summer visitation hours are:
  -  March 11 to October 31
  -  7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  -  Entrance gates close at 6 p.m., all visitors must exit monument by 7 p.m.

These hours are in effect except when all or part of the monument is closed due to severe weather, construction activities, or holiday observances. To avoid disappointment, visitors are encouraged to contact the Bureau of Land Management in Albuquerque at the following numbers prior to visiting:
