Op-Eds and Letters to the Editor

An op-ed, abbreviated from ‘opposite the editorial page,’ is an article published in newspapers or online news outlets that expresses the opinions of a BLM representative who is not affiliated with the newspaper's editorial board.

Letters to the Editor are shorter signed pieces that usually respond to editorials, articles or op-eds from non-BLM sources.

The BLM is posting these opinion pieces to show our position on major land management issues in New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas.
