Dixon Community National Public Lands Day Event

Forty plus volunteers participated in the September 24 National Public Lands Day event in the Dixon area. Dixon community residents, a Rio Arriba County Jail detention crew, and BLMers picked up 20 tons of trash. Residents have been concerned by the illegal dumping and asked the BLM Taos Field Office for assistance in cleaning up the area. 

Rio Arriba County provided two 40-yard dumpsters and Los Ebanistas Construction provided a Bobcat. In addition, volunteers posted four “No Dumping” signs.
