The Rio Puerco Field Office has coordinated with the New Mexico Livestock Board on a strategy to deal with the presence of unauthorized, estray horses found on public land adjacent to the Village of Placitas. The BLM is proceeding with issuing an impoundment notice for the area, and is actively searching for good homes for these estray animals.
