In the Spotlight
The Rio Puerco Field Office has coordinated with the New Mexico Livestock Board (NMLB) on a strategy to deal with the presence of unauthorized, estray horses found on public land and a BLM grazing allotment adjacent to the Village of Placitas. The BLM has issued an impoundment notice for the area. As horses are impounded, they become available through the NMLB. Please visit the NMLB website and call (505) 841-6161 for more information. The BLM is actively searching for good homes for these estray animals.
