Training and Certification of Bureau of Land Management Airtanker Base Managers and Fixed Wing Base Managers
In June 2007, the National Interagency Aviation Council (NIAC) endorsed the Interagency Airtanker Base Operations Guide (IATBOG). This guide is policy as identified in the BLM Manual 9400 and the National Aviation Plan. The 2007 IATBOG established required training for airtanker base positions (Ch. 2, pages 15-23). FA IM 2008-024 endorses the IATBOG training requirements and establishes BLM certification standards (task books) for ATBM and FWBM.
