UNLV GS-401 Education Program

Due Dates: 08/01/08 and 08/15/08

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Fire and Aviation in partnership with University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), a nationally recognized and fully-accredited university of higher learning, is offering an interagency educational program designed to meet the requirements of the GS-0401 Fire Management Specialist series. Upon successful completion of this program, candidates will earn 6 lower division and 18 upper division credit hours in the biological sciences through UNLV.

This education opportunity is open to interagency employees occupying various fire management positions who must transition into the GS-0401 series and for employees who intend to transition into the GS-0401 series to expand their career opportunities. It is not intended for people who already meet the educational requirements for the GS-0401 series.

Bureau of Land Management Notification and Reporting Requirements for GS-0401 Fire Program Management Employees 

Due Dates: 04/1/2008, 07/01/2008, 10/01/2008, 01/02/2009, 04/01/2009, 06/04/2009

This Instruction Memorandum (IM) provides notification and reporting requirements for GS-0401 Fire Management Specialist reported as not meeting the qualification requirements. In addition, this IM provides guidance on notifying qualified GS-0401 Fire Management Specialists their status.
