Application Process for NIFC

1. Register with Commerce & Labor

2. Code for NIFC - For assistance in coding for Material Handler or Truck Driver, ask a Job Consultant or see instructions below. This process may enable you to receive a telephone call regarding openings at NIFC.

Directions for Self-Coding:

1. Under heading "Occupational Preferences," Select Add or Create New

A. For Material Handlers:

a. Select Maintenance, Janitorial, Transportation, and Warehouse

b. Select Warehouse Workers, Forklift Operators, Material Moving Workers

c. Select Freight, Stock, and Material Movers, Hand (Coded 53-7062.03)

B. For Truck Drivers:

a. Select Maintenance, Janitorial, Transportation, and Warehouse

b. Select Truck Drivers, Motor Vehicle Operators

c. Select Truck Drivers, Heavy (Coded 53-3032.01)

  2. Complete each box with the appropriate information, select OK

  3. For skills, select Employer Skills (in blue print at the top)

  4. Scroll down to “NIFC” and highlight

  5. Fill in the box, “Months of Experience” (you must enter something here; if no experience, enter 0 for none)

  6. Click on Add Skill

  7. Click on Next

  8. Click on Region 3

  9. Click on Boise

  10. Click on Next

  11. Click on Done

3. Keep your work registration active; access it at least every 30 days.

4. Check job openings on a regular basis

Search for the job(s) “Material Handler/Seasonal” or “Driver/Seasonal” either on the website or by visiting a Commerce & Labor office.

5. Referral to NIFC openings

a. NIFC opening appears on the Commerce & Labor website

b. Contact a Commerce & Labor office

c. Be prepared to provide your name, social security number, phone number, and the specific job number to receive the referral and your name   will be placed on a list

6. Wait For Contact - When the list of names is forwarded to the NIFC office, they will call those persons they want to interview. DO NOT CONTACT NIFC…wait until NIFC contacts you!!
