Information about the Bureau of Land Management, the Nation's largest land manager, is available via the World Wide Web and through a new, automated faxing system. An agency within the U.S. Department of the Interior celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the BLM manages 270 million acres of public lands.
"These exciting, high-tech communications tools will help us serve thousands of public land users in a far more efficient manner than was previously possible," says BLM acting director Mike Dombeck. "In seconds, customers can read about key BLM actions and new initiatives on the public land."

BLM-NewsServiceFAX is an electronic library of information available on call anytime, anywhere. It provides instant access via fax machine to BLM news releases, fact sheets, biographies of BLM officials, and other news material. This system combines telephone, fax, computer and voice menu technology, enabling callers to select news releases, bios, fact sheets, and other information and receive the documents immediately on their fax machine.
